Saddle — Privacy Policy

Draft for review. Registered address still to be inserted; confirm the governing-law clause with counsel before public release. Governing law is set to the State of California, USA (see Section 11). Have counsel review the advertising-measurement and “sharing” wording added September 2026. Keep this consistent with the App Store privacy labels.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account info: email address (and authentication data) when you create an account. Auth is managed via AWS Cognito.
• User content: the prompts you write and the Builds you create (stored to provide the service).
• Purchases: subscription/purchase status and transaction identifiers, via Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat in the iOS app, and via Stripe on the web. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Usage & diagnostics: product interactions and crash/performance data to operate and improve the App. Inside the App we use our own (self-hosted) analytics. We record product events (e.g. sign-up, app generated, edit, publish) with non-identifying properties only (such as which field was edited), tied to a device identifier and, once signed in, your account identifier. We do not put your prompts, content, emails, or other free text in these events. Analytics events are retained for about 180 days. Our website (saddle-sites.com) uses Plausible, a cookieless analytics service, to count visits.
• Advertising measurement (web only, with your consent): if you accept cookies on saddle-sites.com or build.saddle-sites.com, we load the Meta Pixel. It lets Meta tell us which of our ads led to a visit, a sign-up, a published app, or a subscription. Meta receives your browser and device information, the pages you visit on our sites, those events, and cookies it sets. We do not send Meta your email, your prompts, or the content of your apps. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the pixel never loads. Meta’s use of this data is governed by its own policy.
• Device permissions data: if you (or an app you build) use camera, photos, location, calendar, or contacts, that access happens only when you invoke that feature; we don’t access it otherwise.

2. How we use it

To provide and secure the service; authenticate you; generate Builds; process subscriptions and credits; provide support; analyze and improve the product; and comply with law.

3. AI processing

To generate a Build, your prompt and relevant context are sent through our server to our AI model provider (a subprocessor) to produce the output. We use providers under terms intended to protect your data; do not include sensitive personal information in prompts.

4. How we share

We share data with service providers acting on our behalf: Apple (App Store/IAP), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Stripe (web payments), AWS (hosting, auth, storage), our AI model provider (generation), and Plausible (website visit counts). We may disclose to comply with law or protect rights. We do not sell your personal information.

With your consent, Meta Platforms receives the advertising measurement data described in section 1. Under some U.S. state laws this may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out by declining cookies, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out.

5. Retention

We keep data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account (available in-app), we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

6. Your rights & choices

• Delete your account and data anytime in the App (Account → Delete account).
• Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Contact privacy@saddle-sites.com.
• Change your cookie choice on our websites by clearing cookies and site data for saddle-sites.com; you will be asked again on your next visit.
• Manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings (iOS), or from Account → Manage subscription (web).

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws; we use appropriate safeguards where required.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be notified in-app or by email.

11. Governing law

This Policy and any disputes relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
